Old Ordnance Survey Maps of Fife

We have published just four maps in Fife, to date, but this number does include an unusual pair for Cupar, taken from the large scale town plans. Here are the details. Further information on individual maps is given on our On-line Mapshop.

  • Sheet 09.10 St Andrews 1893 - published 1994; introduction by R.N.Smart
  • Sheet 35.12 Central Kirkcaldy 1894 - published 2003; intro by John Griffiths
  • Sheet 36.05 North Kirkcaldy & Dysart 1894 - published 2005; intro by Barbara Morris

You might find this Index map useful for St Andrews.

    Two Maps for Cupar:

  • Cupar in 1894, Part 1 - published 1988; intro by Sandy Wilkie
  • Cupar in 1894, Part 2 - published 1988; intro by Sandy Wilkie

Unusually, we have taken these maps from the large scale town maps, originally published at 1:500 (more than 10 feet to the inch) but here reduced to a more manageable scale, while retaining all the wonderful detail. In this way we have been able to include the set of 11 plans on just two maps: Part 1 has the first six plans, Part 2 the other five.

If you would like an idea of the area covered by the two maps, just click on the thumbnail to the right.

The maps cost just £ 2.25 each. You can now order maps direct from our On-line Mapshop. For other information and postage costs, see Index Page and Ordering Information Page.

Most maps in the Godfrey Edition are taken from the 25 inch to the mile map and reduced to about 15 inches to the mile. For a full list of maps for Scotland, go to the Scotland page
