    This very detailed map covers the area around Calton Hill, with coverage stretching from the east end of Waverley station eastward to Abbey Hill, and from Royal Terrace southward to Canongate.

    Features include Royal Observatory, High School of Edinburgh, Inland Revenue Office, Waverley Hall, National Monument, Edinburgh Gas Works, St Cuthbert's area, tramways, eastern approach to Waverley station, Canongate church, House of Refuge, Fish Market, Operetta House, Theatre Royal, Waterloo Place, etc.

    On the reverse we include the 1893 town plan, sheet 3.8.6, for the Waterloo Place area.

    The map links up sheet 29 Edinburgh New Town to the west and 36 South Bridge to the south.
