Old Ordnance Survey Maps of North Yorkshire

Here is our selection of maps for North Yorkshire, including much of the former North Riding. Note, however, that the historic boundaries of these are not identical; reorganisation in the 1970s saw the Middlesbrough area become part of Cleveland, and so it has its own page; while several West Riding towns - notably Skipton, Ripon and Harrogate - became part of North Yorkshire. We include them on this page. York is geographically regarded as part of the North Riding though in most ways it was (and is) an independent county entity; however we include it here.

Each map includes an introduction to the history of the area and most also have extracts from a contemporary directory. An information page is available for each map; simply follow the links below.

All maps are available from ourOn-line Mapshop.
