This is one of two maps being published for Düsseldorf, as companion to the Ruhrgebiet maps. It is taken from the British War Office 1:12,500 plans and reduced to approx 1:19,000. Published in 1945, prior to the Allied occupation of the area, the maps are especially good at showing industry, collieries and transport. This map covers most of Düsseldorf, with coverage running from Rath, Derendorf and Mörsenbroich southward to Stoffeln. Most of the city centre is included, together with the suburbs of Flingern, Lierenfeld, Kleineller, Grafenberg, Gerresheim and Neueller. The map is taken from sheet 2 of the pair of 1:10,000 maps published by the British War Office for Düsseldorf. Although not quite so detailed as our maps for the Ruhrgebiet, it is still good at showing industry and railways; a key gives some details about industry.
