    This detailed map , which is double-sided for maximum coverage, covers the western part of Ferryhill that includes Dean Bank, and extends westward to include Merrington Lane and part of Kirk Merrington.

    Features include Dean & Chapter Colliery, Dean Bank, Dean Bank Chemical Works, several railways incl Westerton Railway and Binchester Colliery Railway, Binchester Junction, High Hill House, St John's church (Kirk Merrington) etc. The introduction by Alan Godfrey explores the development of the area's railways and collieries, especially the huge Dean and Chapter Colliery, as well as the attack on Kirk Merrington's church in 1144 and the 'Most horrid and barbarous murder' at High Hill House in 1682.

    The map links up with sheets 35.05 Tudhoe Grange to the north and 35.10 Ferryhill to the east.
